 Zarebi, Calder Valley's own Georgian choir, are excited to present a weekend of events on the 7th and 8th September with award winning Bulgarian choir Pletenitsa. This will include a dance workshop, singing workshop and joint concert with Pletenitsa and Zarebi. Pletenitsa are from the picturesque town of Veliko Tarnovo in Bulgaria, and since their beginning have won various awards and choir competitions. They are directed by the wonderful Nataliq Bilcheva who is from a renowned singing family in Bulgaria. This forms the second half of a cultural exchange between Zarebi and Pletenitsa. Zarebi went to Bulgaria in October last year and spent an inspirational week together with Pletenitsa, sharing songs, eating together, sight seeing in their home town, talking together and of course performing together. Now it is our turn to host Pletenitsa in our home valley, and we would love for you to join us during this very special weekend of events. 18th - 25th September 2024 A circle dancing holiday on the Greek island of Paros with inspirational teachers Bethan Freedman and Sophia Hatch. Hello this is my new web site 2020 :) ...My thanks to Adam , my son for helping me set it up ! 2020 was an EXTRAordinary year ! No day workshops or regular group classes since March .!! Everything cancelled because of Covid ... BUT I have been dancing outdoors in both Hebden Bridge + Saltaire when weather allowed ( see Gallery for photos ) + started doing Zoom workshops for Beltane ( with live music ) Summer Solstice ( with live music ) Balkan Special ( with live music ) World Sacred Circle dance day ( Recorded music ) Autumn Equinox ( with live music ) Samhain ( Recorded music ) and Winter Solstice ( Live music ) AND also started a regular Zoom Wednesday morning class for my locals which continues.. . I did a couple of evening sessions - distanced dancing at Mytholmroyd Community Centre .before we had to stop.
